Happy Mother’s Day!
The beautiful women in our lives
Where would be without our mothers? We certainly would not be embarking on this crazy journey of ours without the love and support of our mothers, not just today but throughout our lives. Mr. Martian and I are both blessed to have wonderful mothers in our lives. Mr. Martian is blessed to have two beautiful moms and I am blessed to have a beautiful mother and two mother-in-laws. I know what you’re thinking, “do you really mean that, 2 mother-in-laws!?” And the answer is, yes. I love each of them and they both have help to mold my husband to the man I get to spend the rest of my life with.
I am so thankful for my mom’s love in my life. I definitely get my caring, thoughtful, loving qualities from my mom. Her strength, perseverance, faith and love are inspiring! She is definitely a hard worker and I have learned to push myself through her example. I was not the easiest daughter in my teen/college years and no matter what my mom was always there for me, welcoming me back even when I didn’t deserve it. Christ's light shines through my mom and she has always been there praying me through and probably saved my life through her love and prayers. I would not be where I today with my walk with God if it were not for me mother. Her faith has strengthened mine. In my teen/college years she would have Joyce Meyer on the television in the background that taught me much more than I realized at the time and brought me back to Jesus and my walk with Him. For those things alone I am forever grateful, but my mom has gone above and beyond to show me love and grace in my life. My brother and I had a great childhood thanks to my mother’s love, protection and always providing us more than we ever needed. Today she still accepts me with loving arms, lifts me up when I am down, and knows the right words to say to comfort me when I am going through difficult times. Plus, I get my cooking skills from her:). I obviously would not be here and definitely would not be the woman I am today without with love of my mother. I am forever grateful Jesus for blessing me with my wonderful mother!
And then I married Mr. Martian and two more great women entered my life. Mr. Martian’s mom is strong, confident, caring, and inspired him to be the man he is today. Mr. Martian told me a story once of how when he was younger and had an idea of what he wanted to be when he was older she would take him to the library so he could research his idea. This gave him confidence and inspired him to pursue his dreams. He definitely gets his innovation, perseverance and strength from his mom. We would not be doing his project and Mr. Martian would not be the man he is today without the love of his mother. Her caring and loving heart is reflected in Mr. Martian and I am very thankful for her passing on those qualities to my husband:).
Jeff step-mom is also an amazing woman. Her strength alone is a shining example of Christ working in her life. She is full of joy, love and has an amazing zest for life! She loves Jesus and she has helped draw me closer to Him. Even through trials in life she still praises Him. Now that's a true testament of faith! Her love, compassion and caring attributes have definitely help to mold Mr. Martian into the man he is today. He is able to understand my crazy emotions thanks to her. I am very thankful for the qualities she even further added to my husband.
All three of our moms are always willing to give a helping hand at the Ranch. My mom has helped me paint, helped me in the yard and recently with the project. After a surgery procedure my mom came over just to help me put the groceries in the house and help with laundry. I think she even folded our undies:). Nothing like folding your son-in-law's underwear:)! Mr. Martian’s mom is always hard at work wanting to lend a helping hand when she is here. She even took pruning shears last time she was here and trimmed trees and sticks in our driveway. I had to drive out and get her because she was working so hard! Jeff’s step-mom also always wants to pitch in and help when she is here. When we first moved here she had just had surgery and was out helping put up fence! See, now you know where Mr. Martian gets his hard work ethic from. And we haven’t even talked about his father figures! Our moms are all strong, hard-working woman who have blessed us with their labors of love!
“Dear children, let's not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions.” 1 John 3:18 NLT (This scripture definitely describes all our moms!)
Sometimes I think it’s the ones closest to us that we forget to thank the most. Moms definitely have a thankless job at times and I want them to know how thankful we are for them. So…thank you to our beautiful, loving, caring, strong moms who have given their hearts to us. Whose great characteristics and angelic presence throughout the years have been there all along to ensure the very best for us and made a way for us to live a wonderful life in this crazy world! Whose love has inspired us to love and pursue our dreams, including this crazy project of ours! We love you!
I truly believe Christ’s love for is exhibited through the love of our mothers!
“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love” (1 Corinthians 13:13)
